Lead Acid Batteries are a less expensive choice than Nickel Cadmium batteries without losing performance. The Concorde battery will outperform a well serviced nickel cadmium battery at low temperatures, provide safe and reliable operation at high temperatures, and is capable of multiple engine starts with short flight durations.

    Glass shaft with rubber bulb to measure electrolyte within the cells of a flooded lead acid aircraft battery. Made in the USA.
    Made specifically for aircraft battery testing.
    Aircraft batteries use much less electrolyte in the battery cells compared to automotive batteries.
    The FR-1 works on very low quantities of electrolyte drawn off, unlike automotive hydrometers that require a considerable amount of liquid drawn off for testing.
